Tony Tong, is a portfolio manager for the BlackRock Strategic Income Opportunities and BlackRock Global Allocation funds. Mr. Tong focuses on broad macro positioning with specialties in volatility trading, interest rates, FX, and index equities. He is also responsible for identifying tactical trading opportunities across a wide range of asset classes and to contribute to absolute return strategies across various portfolios. Previously, Tony was a portfolio manager for the BlackRock Obsidian Fund, focusing on credit, FX, equities, and related derivatives. He began his career in BlackRock’s Securities Lending Trading team, where he most recently was the Global Head of Electronic Trading and Quantitative Research.
Prior to joining BlackRock, he worked as a quantitative analyst on the Asset-Backed Investing desk at BlueMountain Capital Management, focusing on investments in specialty finance companies, consumer-related asset-backed securities, and whole-asset investments.
Tony graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Science degree in Financial Engineering. He earned a BS degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Rutgers University.
